The 5,square-foot converted warehouse boasts a rarity in New York real estate: a sprawling backyard that can accommodate hundreds of dancers of all ages. Like the Field of Dreams, real outdoor space has a certain magnetic quality—if you build it, they will come. The duo also keep the crowd dancing as Mister Sunday's resident DJs. A food program helmed by Henry Rich of Metta and Rucola, hinged on an outdoor Caribbean food truck and BBQ stand, provides all the fuel dancers could ever need.

Come for a mid-afternoon World Cup screening and you might stay until the not-so-early morning—fortified with chickpea curry and kombucha. I came to Mister Sunday one blazing summer afternoon to eat, drink, and disco.

Humidity hangs thick in the air. After putting on wristbands and hearing the house rules no harassment of any kind, no phones on the dance floor , the crowd filters into the yard. Brightly-colored picnic tables fill the space, bordered by a stocked outdoor bar, a small BBQ stand, and a parked food truck with jerk chicken thighs and spicy salt fish on the menu.

Eamon and Justin have been in fine form as well. We recorded their set two weeks ago, and it's dripping with vibes. Check it. You can do all these things off of the dancefloor, but when you're inside the speakers, get down.

If you want to use Google Maps to get directions, the closest address to our entrance is 2nd Ave, Brooklyn. The N, R and D trains stop at 36th Street, two blocks from the party. Both the N and D run express, even on the weekend.

It takes less than ten minutes to get here from Atlantic Terminal on both of those trains. The R train runs local and connects with the F and G at 4th Ave and 9th. If you're riding a bike, the easiest, safest way is to use 5th Avenue. Once you get to 36th Street, just go down the hill, and you're a three-block coast away.
